Yea I hate the whole Idea of ABS. I was having the prob where the abs would engadge when you tapped the brake or at low speeds .Anyhow seeing the remedy's of others with the same frustration of ABS did what most said and disconnected the fuse. I love having no ABS but now my check engine light is on and a fault code P1317 which I am told is ABS Rough Road Line Low Fault Detected. what do I do now... did I not turn off the abs.

funny thing, same thing happened to me. I'm thinking the answer you're going to get from others is "pull out the check engine light bulb". Which fuse did you pull? I pulled the fuse inside the cabin, and my ABS doesn't work now for sure (no more stuttering when I brake).

What else did you noticed?, my 96 Disco did that stuttering today in the rain, I got kinda scared , luckily there was enough room in the other lane for me, plus I heard this sorta grinding metal sound, is that the ABS? Bushings?Bearings?but then I hit the brakes acouple of times, and no weird sound,

Hey Marco, it's the ABS. My car did the exact same thing with the grinding and stuttering. I pulled the ABS fuse, and now it doesn't happen anymore.

Today I pulled the ABS and Check Light lightbulbs, took about 20 minutes total.

Thanks Erick I'll take the fuse out, but is there any other solution? so I don't have to take the check engine light bulb out? like pulling something from the ABS it self?

and if you don't like that light in your face all the time, that's what black hockey tape is for.
