a friend of mine in Los Alamos is starting to shop for a vehicle. on the lower price range he is looking at Cherokees (wife has one) and in the upper range Range Rovers. he is, of course, looking used. he saw a '95 Rangie on a used car lot with 104K on the clock and an asking price of $10,500. is this at all a good deal? what are some things he should be aware of when shopping for Rangies? Are the ones of this vintage plagued by electrical problems like my '97 Disco? i know nothing of Rangies, just some limited Disco knowledge, so any advice or tips you guys have that i could give him would be great. |

A '95 with 104K for $10,500?!?!? Is it a P38 type (series 2 rangie) or classic? It'd better have a new/rebuilt engine and or drivetrain for that kind of dough. If it's a classic, thats a good year. Don't know about the series 2 type. If it has Air springs, what shape are they in? Prolly needs new bags or swap to coil springs. Check out www.robisonservice.com for a good "look-out" list. Click on Service Dept., then Land Rover. Avoid '96 to '97 Disco's. |
