About a month ago, there was a post about airing down and tire pressure, etc. I made a comment about running higher psi in my BFG Mud-Terrains because they were load range D and it would make them last longer. Alyssa asked me what I was running, but I never responded. Airing back up after a long day of trailriding at Windrock (TN) yesterday made me think of it--I am on 265/75R16 BFG Mud-Terrains (KM), and I am running 50 psi on the road and ~25 off-road. Sorry it took so long to get back to you, but I figured it would help.

Best-
Zach

Zach,

Do you run 50 psi front and back? It must feel like you are driving on boulders. Lower pressure in front versus back has to do with safety and control in diverse situations.

Think of it this way, if you over-inflate a balloon, it pops if you graze it with something sharp. You get a similar effect with over-inflated tires. Any minor rut, pothole, or debris on the road will puncture the tire much easier.

Gerry,
I am no expert with tires...that is what the guy at the tire place told me to run. I am on 50 psi front and back.
