Yes. They came to within half a mile from my home. The wife and kids bugged out for the night on Sunday but all is well now. Getting very tired of smelling smoke though.

The enviormentalists should be very proud of themselves for putting an end to the controlled burning we so greatly depend on in the desert.

So far three very good friends and their familes are homeless that I know of, more to come im sure.

I was evacuated Saturday night. I saw it coming and had my Discovery at home in Lake Arrowhead in case I had to head out offroad (I didn't.) Here's what the area looked like two days ago, with my neighborhood circled. No word yet on how my house is doing. I thought I was supposed to be completely freaked out by now, but I seem to have accepted all this long ago. It's the people in suburban neighborhoods I feel for - they didn't bargain for this.

My thoughts are with you and your families. I sure wish there was something I could do, the strength of the fires is shocking. Will keep you in my prayers.
Good Luck, Jamie

Thanks, Jamie! My house made it - no damage at all, though the fires were less than a half mile away. I'd been sure it would burn.

So glad to hear that, I have been wondering!! Good luck getting thru the trauma, that can't be easy for anyone in the area.

I hope you were not in the area of the hail storm!! What's going on out there?? Strange happenings for sure...
