Have read most of the posting but still not sure how to proceed. 97 SE7 Manual w/80K miles... everything, however keep getting check engine light...first dealer cleared without any further investigation, next we replaced Oxygen sensor, now being told that #5&7 registered misfire which triggered light. Dealer recommends checking valve...warranty guys state that they will not pay for it if carbon deposits found. Any thoughts or ideas welcome...thanks |

Perform factory injector/valve/trottle body cleaning treatment. Or buy new fuel injectors for #5 and #7. I had the same repeating code for 4 months, but with cylinder #2! New injector solved problem!! |

MIne does the same thing. It has been on for almost a year. Runs great, though. I just got sick of looking for the problem, and now replace my plugs every other oil change. Let me know if changing injectors helps. I have changed several but it didn't help. Not sure if I changed the right ones. Maybe more were bad than the ones I changed. |

you could also replace the plugs and wires if you haven't done that lately. you are at the right mileage for carbon, however. bogus that LR won't cover carbon... good luck, carl |
