I got the brand new upgraded transfer case for my 1998 Disco. Does anyone know how this "new updated" case has been improved? It came with a new wiring harness too. It causes the orange diff lock icon to light up only when in the process of shifting the lever, after that it shuts off....even when locked. |

Hi The later transfer boxes have so called quite gears. Basically helically cut. The orange light should stay on, try adjusting the transfer lever. Peter S |

Hello, The mechanic that installed my new T-case said that the light only comes on as you engauge the linkage and then it should shut off. I wonder if the new harness is installed wrong or if the linkage is out of line?? It lights up as I move it to the left and then goes off when its in the locked position. I jacked up one tire as a test and the d-lock was working (even with the light off). |
