FYI...I've seen that it's possible in tech section, but there are still questions on it once in a while, so here it is. I just put Interco Truxus 265/75/16 on a STOCK '99D2 and they are great!!!! No rub on road, but it's very close. I will lift 2" before I hit the trail (I know it will flex into lines). The spare actually fit with no mods too! The spare is now resting on the bumper so the hinges might just last more than two years!
I got them from Four Wheel Parts for $681 (5) including shipping to WI.
I'll try to get pics up within the next few days.

Danno is right. Ride is great and a lot quieter than I expected too!

they wear pretty fast though and can be hard to balance, but they are pretty quiet for the tread pattern...i just came back from a trip out west and put 4070 miles on them without any problem on road or off..

I had them on my defender with no problem. thats why I put them on my disco. I have the 285/75. The only problem I had was to butcher my rear tire carrier to fit it.

It prob rubs on the front there right? Front of the front wheel arches? You can flip the L-bracket there to face the other way and it will give you 1" more clearance for 5 minute job.

Chad, can you tell me how this has affected your accelleration? I got a 99' series 1 and am about to get an ome 2" lift. I'm checking out 245/75, 235/85, and 265/75. I'm just a little nervous that anything larger than 245/75 will make me run me at a snails pace. I really can't afford new gears and am curious about experience with these tires on the road and how they affected your speed. Is it bearable? Are you running factory gears? I really appreciate it.

BTW these will be my primary tires

going to 235/85 from 245/75 you will notice that acceleration SUCKS. and after a couple of year and you replace the 235/85's with 255/85's, you won't care :-) it all depends on the individual, i'm content with my 255/85's and stock gearing. also your compression braking would be different when going down steep hills (off-road)

The change in acceleration is very small. The 4.0 D2 is already the second slowest SUV on the market. (3.7 Jeep Liberty being slowest). So it was an easy decision for me to highlight the Disco in the areas that it was designed for (traction and off road capabilities) instead of worring about how it competes with the "beaten path" SUVs.
As far as rubbing in front, I know I have to get new front springs before I get it "out there", but as you can see from the close up, it dosent rub during in town driving.

i have the same tires with the exp exch 3" ome setup...click on my profile to see how it looks lifted. on flat lands, the acceleration is not bad, but start driving on the highways in the mountains and i think you will be annoyed. i just returned from a utah, arizona, new mexico, colorado run and i had it to the floor at elevation and on an uphill grade and was still losing the battle...when i install lockers, i am absolutely installing 4.11's...

but maybe you will not notice too much of a difference.

Karsten, even 245/75 will make it a dog.

Well. 265/75 it is. Too much of our society is based on speed anyways... Fast food, fast internet, fast everything. I may as well take it slow and ENJOY spending time with my rover!

Nelson, You'll be happy with them, but you may want to get a spare tire relocater.

Michael, The Disco looks awsome!
Peter, The lift will help, but in a D1 the wheel wells are smaller. If you go off road at all you will still have to trim some metal, or you will rub when the trail gets flexy.
