87k on the clock.97 4.0. cleaned the screen. and installed a new timning cover and oil pump. still only getting 15lbs oil pressure at idle. even less at cruising speed.so looks like i cooked some bearings. any body have any recomendations on who to get the short block through. i checked rpi and atlantic british. my local rebuilders are in the dark and i am just looking for alternatives. i am in Florida, if that matters.
thanks for any advice.

Will Tillery dashkitz@roverguy.com 804-539-5845

I have 138K on my 3.9, and it is still running flawlessly. Much better running engine than any of the other 14 cars that I have owned.

Give Frank a call - Eagle Automotive Machine Shop, (770) 339-3053, 1240 Hwy 8 C, Auburn, GA 30011
Frank is very knowledgeable about the rover v8, and has done excellent work for me in the past (heads on my 97 disco, and a full rebuild for a friends Lancia). Frank raced SCCA years ago with a rover v8 in a triumph, if nothing else it's worth giving him a ring for his opinion, etc. If you do need a rebuild, I would highly recommend him. John G.

a new DII block is 1200, swap crank sensor plates and you are in business. Now OTOH if it is just bearings (it may be, in fact usually is on 3.9s) there is no reason not to just swap them out and not even bother pulling the block at all.
