Please help somebody, this is driving me crazy. Sometimes my Disco will not start, cranks fine, but won't start. If I go under the hood and depress the schrader valve on the fuel rail, there will be very little fuel pressure, just bubbles out a trickle. However, I then go turn the key and it starts up and runs fine. So I'm getting a air bubble or something in the fuel rail. This is not everytime, just about every 3rd or 4th time and only over night. So I'm loosing fuel pressure in the rail, but not all the time. Once it is started, it runs without problem, so I've pretty much ruled out the fuel pump. Help!! Fuel injector problem?

Have you tryed turning the key all the way off and trying to start the truck again before looking under the hood?

Instead of dpressing the schrader valve on the fuel rail, try opening the gas cap. I have a problem where I get a build up of pressure inside the tank so the fuel pump won't turn on (or cuts off while driving). I "burp" the cap and all is well again. Currently driving with a loose cap until I have time to mess with it more.

I have turned the key off and on multiple times when this happens to try and build up fuel pressure in the system, to no avail. Even after three or four times of turning off and on and listening to the pump run until it shuts off, there is still no pressure in the fuel rail. I have even depressed the shrader valve while the pump is running really quick and still very little pressure. I'll try the fuel cap thing, but as I stated, I can hear the pump running when I turn the key on.

When was the last time you changed the fuel filter?

Fuel Filter was changed 4 weeks ago during a $650 60,000 mile service at Land Rover Dealership.

I still am leaning toward the fuel pressure Regulator.

It never happened before then. I will probably change out the filter as one of the possibles and inexpensive to change. I'm thinking more towards a faulty regulator also, but that item is extremely pricy at LR, so I need to find one of those. If the filter was bad, I would think that there would be more problems than just at start up, but it is possible. I'll let you guys know when I get this figured out.
