Always said that I would never mess with any of my stereo stuff until the truck was set up the way I wanted. Then a friend of mine got a new deck and practically gave me his two year old Pioneer. So we drove over to Best Buy to see what the install would run and make sure that it would all line-up. I was told that there was about a 1/100 chance that the after market deck would recognize the CD changer. I left. Have you guys found the same thing? Is this accurate? Thanks a lot and I apologize for the low-tech question here.

I've looked into changing out my head unit, but as far as I found out is that nothing will work if you change it out, ie the Amp, the Subs, the remote volume and program buttons on the dash. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I also read that the orginal cd changer was actually made by Pioneer as is the head unit? all this info is for a Disco I. I did find a vague decriptions for the pinouts on the back of the head unit. I couldn't find a whole lot of info in this area......... |

Whoa, thats rough. I didn't even think about the stock amp & little subs... Im really glad I didn't do it. It seems as though you kind of have to go all or nothing. |
