considering a '95 LWB. Seller says "The spring kit was manufactured by Dobenson out of Australia. I just spoke to our mechaninc and he said that they were the best on the market." This is a new one on me. Anyone here familiar with Dobenson???

Probably doesn't matter. The conversion is simply the spring bases for the axle ends, stock LR springs (you pick 'em or use OME, other) and spring retainers for the rear.

If you don't like the springs or they sag switching them out is a matter of removing the shock bolts and lowering the axle.

The Dobenson kit is not just the replacement mounts but also the springs and may have included replacement shocks, also. Dobenson is the Australian mfr that does military parts for Rovers - the parts are robust and tend to be a bit more stout than the corresponding OME parts. Motorcars Ltd. in Houston, Texas, is a strong proponent of this mfr and sells their parts. You could contact them for more info.

Thanks, Paul. I've contacted Motorcars Ltd. and they do indeed think highly of Dobinsons. Considering it's apparent quality, I'm surprised they're not as widely seen as the other coil conversion kits out there. I decided to pass on the LWB w/Dobinsons for other reasons, but will definitely consider using Dobinsons if the LWB I end up with is a candidate for the EAS conversion.

Recently installed Dobinson shocks on my 89 RR. These are very heavy duty shocks. However during my research, it appears that they are contract produced by De Carbon. Dobinson makes the coil and leaf springs.

I found the Dobinson website if anyone is looking. It is www.dobinsonsprings.com. Some of the website is still under construction but there is still some information.
