Can Someone please tell me where the Reset switch, button is for the Service Engine Soon light? My Disco II just went past 61k and I have already done the service myself or by LR.
Can you tell me where it is and if I need a Special Tool?

I have you checked to code to make sure what the problem is. Just becuase you did the service does not mean that the vehicle does not have a problem. Go to Autozone and have the code read. They can also reset the light. However, if you do have a problem the light will just turn back on again.

Anyone know how? For a DII. Can you disconnect the battery terminal?

Keep driving. It will go out in a few miles if nothing is wrong.

Lewis, chances are that the light is on because of a problem. Go to autozone and check the code. Once you have the code go from there. The reader can reset the light and it will turn off. However, if you do have a problem it will come back on. By the way you can also disconnect the battery but again if you do have a problem the light will just turn on.

Richard thanks for the insight. Do you ever come to San Antonio?

Thanks Richard. When my light came on I was a loong way from a dealer. When I got to the dealer and had my service that was due done, I was told that the light was lit to remind me it was time for service. This wasn't my regular dealer so I don't know if this is true, but they didn't have anything listed on the reciept except the reg. service. And the light was off when I picked it up. It never ran bad, but they often don't, thats why we have a light to notify us.
Anybody ever hear of the light coming on for a service due?

Hi friends
On my 95 the reset relay was under the passenger seat. It has a Land Rover sticker on it. Under the sticker is a small hole that you can stick a small drill bit in to reset the light, which is a reminder, nothing more. It does not mean that there is something wrong with the truck, but as someone previously said, it is to remind you to go to the dealer and spend the rest of your money on an emmisions service. On some discos, the relay is under the kick panel, I've heard.
Best Always
Alden

Are you guys talking about the "service engine soon" light (signalling scheduled maintanence, or the "check engine" light (which means you have an engine problem? This was discussed a few weeks ago, and I had to reset my "check engine soon" light on my 97 D1. Not sure if a DII has both lights. If you're talking about the one I had to reset, it doesn't mean you have a problem, you just need to reset it.
