I have been reading many threads regarding ABS to the point where I feel that one day I am going to arrive home with hot pockets.

Many months ago my D1's ABS pump had the habit to remain on (after doing its job) and hum away and it drained my battery. Whenever that occurred, the only way to turn it off was to disconnect the battery for a few moments (the pump hasn't acted up for months now). Anyway, my a-l light is on and I have ignored it for some time and as a precaution from the threads I have disconnected the pump/ABS system. (Q1 - Is that sufficient to ensure that I will never have "hot pockets" from sudden lack of brakes?!? It is my assumption that the ABS can impede braking if something is faulty in the system)

All 4 brakes have been replaced as my routine maint, (front leaking caliper was replaced which I thought would be the culprit) and nothing was reset if it was called for. I haven't noticed anything too out of the ordinary, but I am still conscious about my ABS due to the nagging light. My question to wise Rover Gurus/Disco-webbers, is there something further to reset/clear/adjust/test etc (thus proving my ineptitude with trivialism!!) or is this gonna be a job for Super-Dealer? Any insight, suggestions, remedies etc would be greatly appreciated by me and future readers!!

Rich
