Will toe change with height adjustment? or is just camber/castor affected?

The toe in out will not be effected, but if you did have an issue (slight toe-in or toe-out) When you add larger tires, you will notice the issue alot more. |

To the best of my knowledge caster is changed when you lift. In my opinion when you move up the tire size you may want to just place toe out at 0. Spec is 0-2mm. Brian |

Thank you guys, I'll have it set to 0mm. It was going to happen -before- I did the springs and I didn't want to have to do it again .. especially in this weather!

Handling on road will suck and you'll also wear tires like crazy with no toe out - even with a 3" lift. 1/8" toe out works well Bill |

Hmmm, I can't really argue your point Bill, but my experience with changing between 245/75 and 235/85 and 3" lift tells me that I see even wear on both and less wandering with 0. In fact 2mm definitely resulted in uneven wear on my rig. Maybe it is my POS '95 and some of the quirks there. I will admit that when measuring, it could end up to be slightly over 0, but likely not even 1mm. At any rate, if you have a fairly accurate system of measuring toe, it is not a big deal to play around with it. I had to play with mine to get good results. My concern was primary reducing wandering, not even wear, I just appear to have the benefits of lessening wandering and getting good wear. Just goes to show you that every vehicle needs a bit of tweaking IMO. If I get a chance I will confirm what it is set at. I use 3 threaded rods with couplers to measure. I use teflon tape to keep the couplers from moving too easily. I have couplers at the end that I can adjust to measure at the rim front and back. pretty easy especially with that bitchin track rod from RTE. Using 3 makes them fairly short and they fit in my tool box. Sorry about the muddy water here Trevor, Bill definitely knows what he is talking about, I just don't think it works on my rig. |

I don't want to start an argument either certainly, but having had stock, 245/75/16 - 235/85/16 and now 33" - they all seem to like the 1/8" toe out on mine. All my bushings and TRE's, get replaced with some frequency, so the truck is still pretty "tight" Bill |

Trevor, take my advice with a grain of salt. Bill sounds like he has better control over the maintenace of his vehicle than I. Yeah I have done some new rover bushings on mine. Need to do the radius arms (any tricks for getting them both off at once?). Engine mounts too soon. I did the tie rod ends (took me a second on the acronym there) when I did the track rod. What 33" are you running? Width? Diameter? I don't remember what lift you are running either (and just noticed your lack of gallery). Email me a pic, if you do not want to post. I think 33" would work well for me or maybe 265/75 next time around, but I want to get rid of these soft springs that I have and go the OME/Spacer route. Cheers, Brian |
