Hi all, Last night I attempted to changed all my swivel seals and bearings (drivers side) but ran into problems in 2 places. One the bottom swivel bearing and two the stub axle bearing and oil seal. I'm going to do the pass side tonight but would really like to be able to change those. Stub axle I just couldn't figure how to get anything in there to drive the old bearing out (manual shows a special puller) and was a little worried because it looks like you could crush the new bearing/race (all one pc.) driving it in. And the bottom swivel bearing is just a little freaky how its mounted within the swivel housing. Any help would be appreciated. Wes |

You pretty much need a slide puller to get the stub axle bearing out -easy to do with the right tool. On the other hand, that bearing rarely goes bad, so if you don't replace it, it's not the end of the world. The new one goes in easily with the socket of approx the same diameter to use as driver. Not sure what you mean about the bottom swivel bearing, it's kind of a pain to hold it all together while bolting it all up because it's all loose, but other than that, it's straightforward. Good luck, Bill |
