Hi, I'm tony from England.
I'm a new subscriber to this forum. I own a 1996 300tdi 5 door Disco 1, which I have owned for two years.
Having discovered this fantastic web site and learnt what can be done to my standard Disco I am now starting on my upgrading journey.
All of the Disco's featured in this site look absolutely fantastic, giving me some wonderful idea's. That's if I can buy over here what you people have available in the USA.
Regards
Tony

Welcome Tony-
Its funny how you look at some of the things we have here, while we look at some of the things you have there (like cheap Defenders and a factory delivered 300TDI Disco)

Hey Tony! Welcome, I'm pretty new here myself. These guys here are good. I don't think i've seen a single question go unanswered. (with the correct solution!) Check the archives and use the search function, I've found a ton of info that way.

Hi Tony,

Welcome! This is THE PLACE to be to learn about your disco - especially if you want to learn about doing stuff to it. I would have been totally lost without everyone here.

Gosh Ray, that is SO TRUE. Can't even guess how much time I have spent looking at parts in rover magazines.

Tony, I'm always intriguied by all of the advertisements for off road insurance companies over there. I still haven't figured out how that works - over here it appears that most off road using stealth techniques with insurance companies and of course, denial.

If you ever get bored and have some free time, post how that works over there. I often wonder if off road insurance is expensive in your country, required, and also wonder if they cover repairs no matter what you do to your rover.

BTW, when you ask questions you will get answers with many opinions. I think that is great, because I used that for research (still do). I did not know anything, or even where to start, so every response gave me a part, subject, strength, and/or weakness to thoroughly investigate to make the best choice for me. Can't tell you how many times responses stopped me from making big mistakes.

When I have made mistakes (still do), I get help to fix my mistakes. Even ornery posters can be very helpful! :-)

Good Luck with your rover, Jamie
