The weather stripping / gaskets around my left & right cargo windows are cracked. I called three auto glass places about changing them and they will not....They say I have to take it to dealer because they more times than not will crack the glass. The nearest dealer said they just take it to an auto glass place. Does anyone have any suggestions or experiences..... |

is water leaking in? if not it's still ok. you could use some black silicon to make it visually appealing again. OR do it yourself. order the rubber gasket. remove the old and then install the new. most people seem to use para-cord to pull the gasket in. let me know if you are going to do it yourself, and i'll send you a page from the manual. |

Joan I would guess it's a D1. Are the windows leaking? The gaskets are what hold them in. The guys at my brother in laws glass shop did them all the time. I bet the problem is they can't make much money off this repair. Ask one of the guys at the glass shop if he would do it after hours if you got the gaskets. Its easy to do. |

Yes they are leaking and yes it is a D1...the carpet is damp after a heavy rain.....I know the weather stipping is only about $50.00 per window, but 2 places said they flat out won't do it and the other said they won't be responsible if the window cracks and that they usually do crack....As much as I'd like to give it a try I'm sure I can't do it myself. I'll keep calling around...I live north-west of DC near the WV, MD and VA borders. if anybody know any place.... |
