What kind and where did you guys get them? I ahve looked every where and no luck. I want to put some in the disco1 so I can put off the stuck valve issues. Thanks |

I have not tried this yet, but a mechanic I work with swears by this stuff called "sea foam" you can get it at napa. He puts in 1/3 in the gas tank 1/3 in the crankcase and 1/3, starts the engine, removes the vent tube off of the valve cover and slowly lets the engine suck it down. Then, shuts off the truck and lets it sit over night. I plan on trying it before my next oil change, good luck Ron. |

One of the best oil additive/engine cleaners out there is BG-MOA. My local NAPA sells it. Run it every 3rd or 4th oil change as part of routine engine care. I recently got to see the inside of a Toyota 2F engine with over 200K on it. Routine MOA kept it spotless. BG also makes the worlds best injecter cleaner 44K |

I have heard that diesel added to the oil JUST BEFORE CHANGING and running it for 5-10 mins does the trick.

A quart of Kerosene is what I used to use on my old chevy's, (slightly cheaper than diesel in some places - No road tax) Don't run the motor for more than a minute though, then change the oil and filter, run the engine for 30 minutes or so, then change the oil and filter again. Engine should be pretty clean. At least that is what I used to do to old chevy's. |

ATF does the trick-drain about a quart of oil out, add a quart of ATF and drive around for about a mile or two slowly, then drain. Here is the problem with any cleaner--only a small amount of the crap you are getting rid of actually comes out of the engine. The rest of it turns into thick sludge in the pan. So, if you have more than 30K on your engine and decide to run a cleaner like this, plan on dropping the pan and cleaning out the sludge. Good luck Matt |
