Anyone have their HAM radio license? I took the test and got mine in Sept. Test was pretty easy. I studied for a week and took the online sample test over and over and pass with 95%.

Dont use it much but it will be nice to have when I am able to get out on a trail.

my call sign is KG6SGH

Mostly 14m & 17m on a old Kenwood TS-430S picked up used. Works great. I need a 2m rig for the Rover. Actually probably a FT857 or IC-706. I want mobile HF as well as local/trail 2m.

2mtr in the rover and have been known to run 40, 80, and 20mtr. Yaesu 1000 and Yaesu Ft101 on tubes just for kicks in the house. Haven't had time to op HF in a long time.
Should line up a rover net on 80 now that winter is here

Not many hams on the trail, CB or FRS is more common but can't beat 2mtr or better yet, HF moble on those long road trips to the trail.

Wife also a ham & rover/car nut.

Over & out, Roger Wilco and all that corny radio stuff.

Got my license this Summer. I had inherited a Yaesu FT-5200 144/440 from my dad, and have it in the Disco. Still looking for a manual, or someone to show me how to use it. I know it will recieve on 2-meters.
