I am such a dunce!! For over 2 months my right foot has gotten extremely hot when I am driving. My left foot has felt fine. When I have driven longer distances on the highway, it has felt like the sole of my shoe is melting off. I have had to cranked the air all the way down and made it come out the floor area to cool down my shoe and foot. That did not help much (and it was very noisy), but I never remembered to look at my shoe whenever I stopped. Besides, I think I was afraid that maybe I had accidentally "rerouted" something when I worked on my truck. I stopped at the grocery store on the way home. Since my foot was still very hot, I remembered to check it. I got out and touched the bottom of my shoe to see if I was imagining things. It felt hot, so I reached in and touched the pedal and it was very hot too. So, I looked in there the pedal is gone. There is just this metal rectangle that the pedal should be on. Duh, no wonder my foot has been hot. I'd sure like to know how in the world I could loose my bloomin' gas pedal. Sometimes, I just cannot believe what a dunce I am. I will call dealership first thing in the morning to see if they have one. I have a feeling that is not an item that they keep in stock (unless of course, this is a regular disco occurance that I have never heard about). Does anyone know of an aftermarket supplier that would carry this? Thanks in advance, Jamie |

Sounds like you need a rubber pad....but where is that heat coming from? |

If it is getting that hot, I would check you Cat's sounds like you have another issue other than just a missing gas pedel. |

LOL... What a story. You are a very descriptive writer. You should write culinary articles. What type of work have you performed recently? It sounds as if there is an electical short. Have you experienced any electrical issues? You can eliminate the A/C since you were using it to COOL you foot. eddie |

Thanks, I'll ask about that when I call dealership tomorrow morning. I'm not having any other trouble. Everything else is working fine. I did blow a few fuses last month while I was repairing something, but it was my fault due to a very simple error (which I corrected immediatlly) Let's hope it is just my "daily driver" tennis shoes. It does not feel hot at all if I have my boots on. I still cannot imagine how in the world I could have lost that. Thanks, Jamie |

things sometimes just get lost! I had a pair of presciption glasses on the dash while wheelin, end of the day went to get them and I still can't find them. All the windows were up all day so I don't think they fell out. Your foot shouldn't get hot just from the loss of the pad, it's got to be something else. On the piece that the pedal was on you can just add something like skate board tape for traction and it'll give you a bit more foot room. |

You are running rich or the T-case is about to blow up or something if your foot is getting that hot. In a series or D90 ok but a disco should not get that hot. Ron |

Thanks! Happy to report that I did not lose my gas pedal. It is not supposed to have the thick rubber padding like on the break pedal. Duh! Turns out that the problem HAS been my daily driver running shoes. There is a normal discharge of heat from the lower drivers side of the center console. It has been heating up the top part of my shoe - then got hotter on the sole as my shoe heated up. Thanks again, Jamie |

Hi jamie Great job on your Rover and I am sorry to change the topic but. I have a friend here in Traverse City Mi. who has a rover of her own and I was wondering where you got the sticker and how can I get one foe her. Since her plate reads HER ROVR I think that it would be a great addition. Thanks Ross Thoma PS glad your foot and gas pedal are OK |

Ross, The "silly boys" sticker? I'd luv to give you the name of the company that made it, but it's at home. I'm out of town training with Bill Burke. Would you email me in about 10 days and remind me? I should be home by then and I'll be happy to send it right out to you! I luv my sticker because it reminds me of that old "silly rabbit, trix are for kids" cereal commercial!! Thanks, Jamie |
