I left my 96 disco running for a minute on my driveway this morning while I ran inside, when I came back out, I noticed that the exhaust had left a black spot on the driveway. Anybody know what caused this and if its a bad sign?

Basically what you have is the following:

When you first start any vehicle, all the moisture in the the exhaust starts to evaporate do to the heat build up. This moisture has to go somewhere. It travels out the tail pipe and in the process it will attach it self to the exhaust soot in the pipes....this will then drip out the tail pipe.

Hope this helps.
