Will 265 MTR's fit on a 4.0. Do you think MTR's would decrease street performance much?

Thanks

I assume you talking about a P38 range rover (95-2001). Do you have the stock EAS suspension? Tires I assume are 265/75/16. Check out this link, it has lots of info on what fits:

265's will probably fit, but you will have some rubbing, if you have front mud flaps they will rub when the wheels turn. You will have to lock the EAS in standard or hi mode to prevent tires from rubbing. You will probably have some rubbing when you are in hwy mode and if you have an EAS fault and it drops you to the bumpstops, then you will not be able to drive the car with those tires on it.

I have 265/75/16 BFG mt/km on my 96 4.0se, but I have a 3-4" coil spring lift. Acceleration with these larger tires has declined but not too much, RR's are slow as it is. Doesn't bother me, but might others. Uphill and in mountains you can feel the slower performance.
