Hannible, ARB and Safety Devices are all good racks. Just a matter of preference and asthetics IMO. Technitop and Hannible are both good tents from what I have seen. My advise and the best camping money I ever spent was the tent cot.

I have a Hannibal tent (mounted on a LR adventure roof rack) and a Hannibal awning and both are great products. I'm very happy with both in terms of comfort, ease of use, and quality.

Hannibal Safari is a South African company, which is highly regarded here. I have a 1.4m Hannibal rooftop tent, which is one of the best investments I've made. I've been to the factory, met the people, and were impressed. Incidently, did you know the concept of rooftop tents was developed in South Africa?

Devin:

How did you mount the tent and the and awning to your Adventure Rack? Any pictures?

Thanks,
Mike B.

I have a Hannibal Rack on my classic. Aside from looking a little ugly it works really well. It definitely makes my rover fit in well next to all the contractors trucks at Home Depot. You can't beat it for hauling plywood and drywall. The ability to take down the rear bar is a great feature. I think they look pretty fugly on a Disco though.

Mike,

Haven't been back to the board for a few days. I don't have any detail pics of the mounting, but I used u-bolts for the tent and I used some right angle hand fabbed steel braces mounted with 1" pipe clamps to mount the awning. If you don't already have a rack and you'd like to use the tent and awning, I'd recommend getting the Hannibal because it mounts so conveniently. If you already do it, Nathan at Pangaea Expeditions(?) has mounting kits to install the tent to the LR rack. I don't know if he has anything pre-fabbed for the awning. Attached are a couple of pics that show what it looks like installed.
