I mounted my CB radio in the front driver's side door. I own a 99 DII and the fuse block is right by the door. I was wondering what others used for a 12 v source. I do Not want to run straight to the battery. I was also wondering if there were any fuses on the fuse block that were for aftermarket accessories.

Lee,

I am not too sure why you decided to mount a CB there but if that works for you then I guess it is just fine. As far as power, if you have a permanantly mounted CB then you should run as close to the battery as possible for the cleanest power. Just make sure it is appropriately fused. I run my HAM direct and this is really the best and cleanest option.

Direct to battery (fused of course) is only place I could go with mine to not get alternator, winch, radio, wiper, etc interference. Not sure about D2's, but D1's have an underhood maxi-fuse block that has several unused terminals - both on battery and alternator sides.
