I recently had my driver's door check-strap replaced (it was cracked) and everything seemed normal. About 3 weeks after I got the truck back from the body shop, I started to feel a draft on my left leg, and that when other cars pass me, the noise seems to be louder than before. I am not sure if it has anything to do with the checkstrap as there was no problem right away. The effect is similar to if the door was not closed all the way. From the outside, the door appears to be fine, and is aligned perfectly. I inspected the rubber seal and that too appears to be fine, and indentical to the passenger side door. Every thing looks normal, but the problem persists. Any ideas? BTW it is a 2001 DII. Thanks in advance |

Have you given the rubber door seal a visual? Does the door close fully? Bazzle |

yes, I have closely inspected the seal, and visuaally everything appears fine. the door is lined up perfectly and appears normal. It seems to close normally and appears tight to the vehicle. I am stumped. |

the window frame is bolted to the door (not a one piece door/frame). i know you said the draft feels like it is on your leg, but after one dealer service i had regarding the door, it seems that they had to loosen those bolts and forgot to retighten them. while driving down the road, i noticed much more noise as well. if i applied any pressure at all to the window, i could open up a half inch gap between the frame and the truck, but while closed and left alone, appeared to be fine. might be worth a look... mike |

I second Mike's comments. My dealer is incapable of performing even the smallest amount of work on my vehicle without loosening the fit on at least one of the windows. The last time I complained about it, the results were that the door was so tight I couldn't close it and the window was flopping around in the breeze. After another few visits I am hoping that fate may conspire to put them all back tight, all at the same time. Naturally I shall celebrate by refilling all the fluid reservoirs at once. |

It's probably coming from the door handle recess by your knee. There is a noticeable draft from there in my 03 disco. |
