I have been running some different vehicles through these two used car pricing mechanisms. Kelly is consistantly thousands more than Edmunds. Does anyone know why? |

because Kelly runs numbers based on west coast dealer's asking price. Edmunds runs numbers based on actually DMV sales records for your zip code area.

Yeah so you get sellers using KBB and buyers using edmunds, what a cluster. |

Dealers will also used the infamous "black" book or "auction" book when they are giving you money (ie pricing your trade). This one is by far the lowest.. obviously. |
