I have an extra key for my 99 d2. Is there any way I can progrma it myself to unlock the doors. The dealer said that I need some serial number for them to program it and I dont have this. Is this key useless now? |

You need the bar code slip that comes with the key brand new. It looks like a key tag with a bar code printed on it. With this the dealer can program the key to the car using their computer. |

I bought this car used and the lady I bought it from didn't have this bar code slip. It took her 2 weeks to produce the title, and she didn't tell me the thing drank coolant like my mom drinks gin. Bitch. Am I allowed to say that here? |

Actually, I replaced the head gaskets myself. Good way to get to know your car. Still, does anyone have another suggestion for this extra key I have? |
