Hello, are there anywhere I can find drawings(like those that engineers do) of protection gear such as skid plates, steps or rocksliders and etc for 1993 RRC LWB ? Thank you |

"Brain rape!" as in, why don't you call the guys who make this stuff for a living and ask THEM for "drawings(like those that engineers do) of protection gear such as skid plates, steps or rocksliders and etc for 1993 RRC LWB" SC |

I dug through some of my old CAD drawings and found some old slider and bumper designs I was working on. The following is a great slider I had designed a while back. Certainly wish I had contacted InvenTech, because I think they'll definitely give the Dreadnought Sliders a run for the money.
This is my bumper I designed. It combines features of both the ARB and TJM bumper, and it has provisions for the 03 Disco fog lamps, and is the steel used is of sufficient thickness for the 5 tonne Dixon-Bate tow jaws available at www.landroverstuff.com

Aw c'mon guys. Be easy on Anton here. There are actually quite a few good folks who have posted instructions to build various protection items in the "Tech" section. However, I think that once one ventures into buiding gear themselves, they quickly realize it is not as simple as taking measurements, cutting, and welding it together. The reality is that byuing an item is a hell of a lot cheaper in the time-is-money equation. I have undertaken the challenge of making my own rear D2 bumper. In the end I think it will be the best bumper for most applications. However, what I have learned in the process is that what I have now is not what it will be. Building a prototype requres going back and rethinking what you originally thought would work. I used some other bunper designs for referrence, but I have found they did not meet the requirements I needed. What began as a weekend project will likely take six months to reach finality. In the end I will probably have just wished I would have had someone else do the work and pay then whatever they wanted. Still, the knowledge that will have been gained will be invaluable. -Curtis |

Craig, Those are examples of excelllent CAD drawings. I am a little amazed at how detailed they are. Is that a new version of CAD, or one that came out in the 60's Good thing you make great sushi. I sure am craving that right now. -C |

Therein lies the deception. You would assume that I meant CAD in terms of Computer Aided Design. CAD in this case stands for Craig's Asinine Drawings |

LOL SUSHI! I would be willing to pay your grandmother much more for her techniques than some damn bumper. Seriously. This is a culinary intrest of mine that I have not had the opportunity or cultural exposure to delve in to.

Me too! I feel that I've only really scratched the surface in terms of fish selection, cutting and preparing. There is still much to be learned. I'm no Itamae-san... Luckily my tastebuds are finely honed. |

Once you have it mastered we need to open a restaurant. It will be the only national joint that will server top shelf Japanese shushi and Texas BBQ. People will freak and we will make millions. We can then buy a real CAD program and help out Anton.

I like this idea. We will naturally be sponsored by Engel so we can deliver our top shelf culinary delights to our catering gigs, wherever said catering demands may take us, oh say, like Truckhaven? I think I'd need two Engel 45s. One serving as a fridge, the other as a freezer for our many days on the trail. I think three Engel 45s would be good for your meat. We'll need Steve to join us on our catering gigs so he can provide us with the electricity we need. John can serve as our quality control taste tester. Since he is accustomed to playing the role of Chairman Kaga, his acute sense of taste will be essential in assuring we produce a quality product. Aaron can provide us with his wonderful eggplant since all that meat can be overwhelming. We'll definitely have a solid catering menu. What should we call said restaurant and catering service? |

definition of Sushi - various selections, varities, and shapes of fresh fish that are used as bait to catch larger fish which then is properly COOKED before serving!! |

Anton, Usually blueprints or engineering drawings are considered propietary (sp) data and are not normally released. Craig, Your state-of-the-art catia drawings rival the software that we use in the aviation industry |

well i have to agree with curtis. ya'll are assuming this guy is looking for detailed drawings of products made by companies that are in business. when he could be looking for some DIY style prints. if i had taken the time to make my own skid plte or something i would be more than happy to share those. unfortunately for the poster i have not done this.

Jaime- LOL, you're from Oklahoma, so your response is not surprising to me. If you don't like sushi, that's fine. Curtis' brisket and ribs should suit you just fine. Curtis, this business model is ingenious! |

LOL, that's longer than I've ever been in Japan for. If after living in Japan for 5 years you still feel that nigiri sushi and sashimi is merely bait, then I'm at a complete loss for words. You're simply missing out. |

Blue- I saved you the trouble of learning my complex and intricate CAD program and drafted up my design for a fridge. In true leech design, it's compatible with Engel's slide lock.

Damn, nice! How many cans of "soda" can that baby hold? I need major "soda" storage for those Xtreme Xpeditions. You have an illustrious career ahead of you as a CAD Designer. Just let me know if you're involved in any bridge or building design... |
