I recently purchased an 03 Disco 2 and I am completely in love with it, except for the lack of leg room. While searching the tech section I saw an article describing how to increase the leg room of a non power seat Disco 1 and I am curious to know whether this can be done to a power seat Disco 2. Thanks for any help, and you will be seeing many more posts from me in the future because I have the modification bug and nothing is good enogh from the factory. |

there was someone on here before saying he could weld extensions in. Im 6'4 and know what you mean about the lack of leg room. If you get adventurous one weekend. take the seat out and trim or move the seat stops. If you look under the seat you should be able to see them. welcome to the club. unfortunatly no one found a cure for the bug yet, its like a cold, you catch it from those around you and you just have to wait it out. |

Unforntunately, just removing the stops will not allow you to move the seat back any further. I removed the stops on my 01 D2, and was unable to move the seat. Also, it is a PITA to drill ou the stops b/c getting a drill bit and dremel inside the rail is extremely tedious. Also, the big screw that controls the foward motion of the seat does not have much more travel on it and also must have some sort of stop on it. There was a post a while ago that said to move the seat back further you actually have to remove the seat and the rails and moun them back further. This would involve breaking the rivits and seems pretty complicated and thus i haven't tried it yet. After a while, you get used to the lack of legroom b/c I am 6'3" and have become accustomed to it and it is no that big of a problem. But, if you have sometime and wanna try it, let us know how it goes. Hope this helps! Christian Kiely 2001 D2
