I ordered SGs. Took 9 WEEKs to arrive. Not sure who they procure from. Well made, nice 12pt bolts w/pre-applied loctite for adapter hub.

with 3+ inches lift, I may need upgrade a double ended cardan in the front for D1. Minor vibes remain even after dialing in the rear pinion angle with the shimable RTE rear arms.

Michael, if its not too personal - how much was front one?

I got rear Tom's Wood, but i am not very happy with how they packed it (would be nice to actually have locknuts, would be nice to have extra 4 bolts+locknuts, as old ones wont fit)... And looks like i will need to get front one with my 3" lift.

i have replaced only my rear...i am driving a DII, so the front is already a double cardon...that said, i will either talk to bill soon about upgrading to serviceable u-joints in the front or wait a bit longer as he says he is thinking about offering a great basins complete shaft for the DII as well. i am not sure what he offers as a front for DI's, but i was very happy with my business there. sorry sergei, that i could not be more help...

Call Bill at GBR. He has a great set up. Very easy to deal with. And great prices for such a nice product.

I agree with mike, give GBR a call. I think my front one is very nice, and it came ready to install.

I have the GBR rear shaft in my 96. Happy with it. I've got a SG front bumper. Happy with it. Can't do a direct compare on shafts, but IMHO both companies offer excellent products. The gap comes in service. GBR over SG, by a mile. -Tom

I have GBR front and rear with 3+ inches of lift and couldn't be happier. Bill was great. Due to some confusion I ended up with both SG and GBR shafts. I spoke to Mary at SG and she was out of stock...so I called Bill. He next day aired them to me and they were on within hours. Meanwhile, Mary called her supplier and had them sent to me the day after the GBRs arrived. I missed her follow-up phone call and she could tell by the urgency in my voice from the other call that I needed them pronto...so she drop shipped them from her supplier. She then absorbed costs to have them shipped back when I called her and told her I did not need them. Everything under my truck is SG except the shafts, and I would happily suggest either company to anyone...

Will a D2 Driveshaft fit a D1 in the front. I Don't know if someone has asked this before, but I think it would be a lot cheaper.

Brad, why you want D2 d/s ? I thought they cost about same as to just build new one for D1..

I have also got one in the front of my truck from GBR, and I am very please. But, if you do get one from GBR, make sure it doesnt rub the drivers-side Cat.(Mine did just barely)

Also, FWIW, i believe the GBR driveshafts are built by Tom Woods, but I could be wrong on that...

If I went to the recyclers and got a D2 driveshaft for around $150-200 to stick on my D1 is it worth it, or save an extra 200 for a GBR

I have Tom Woods custom on the front. Great shaft, great service, but it required re-balancing to smooth it out. My rear shaft is from GBR. Also GREAT service and a great shaft. GBR builds their shafts with higher angle joints (30 degree vs. stock 20) and longer slip joints - helpful with lifted trucks. Both Tom Woods and GBR us spicer 5-153X U-joints. Excellent quality and probably the most common joint on the market. The key is to make sure you have the right shaft configuration. Measure your pinion angles and check out the tech info on Tom Woods site www.4xshaft.com before you do anything.

I am assuming that these would bolt right on without the need to measure everything.

Rick - Tom still asks for measurements, even though they made quite a lot of rover shafts by now.

If you change the front driveshaft to a D2 then you will also need to change the front output flange as they are different. My breaker was not happy to remove it from the transfer box so had to go to the dealer to get one in the end.
