95 Land Rover Discovery I Hello... My accelerater cable broke a few months ago.. I ordered the replacement from Atlantic British and took it to my local mechanic.. The mechanic said the cable was way to long and did a quick fix on the old broken one so that it would work until I located the correct one. Well I ordered the part again from atlantic british.. again the cable is to long after trying to install it myself.. I call them up they say that it is a oem part and the only part listed for the vehicle... called my dealer they say the accelerater cable part number is the same as the one Atlantic British gave me... What do I do?? I cant imagine I am installing it wrong.. has anyone had the same problem?? Thanks, Rich Peterson |

An update on this.... I checked the routing of the cable in the engine compartment.. that might be the problem.. in my Haynes repair manual I can only find pictures of the cable being routed for a right side steering wheel.. instead of on the left. Anyone got a picture of the engine compartment... or can someone look at the routing of their accelerator cable in the their engine compartment?? Thanks, Rich Peterson |

Rich the cable comes out of the firewall then takes a turn under the brake booster then back over the top of the booster to the mount on top of your plenium. If a pic is really needed I can take one but it is a simple route |

I am SOOOO fustrated... now after getting the cable routed the correct way.... and now the length of the cable from the retaining screw to where ot connects at that throttle body is about a inch and a half to short... i think the cable is defective... I dont know what to do .... |
