My brother has just bought a county 110. It is bog stock down to the Boge Air-Mat suspension in the rear end (ala RR). He is very impressed with it. He reckons that standard it is better than his last vehicle - a 3 inch lifted 60 series Landcruiser with a series 2000 suspension with LSD rear and huge off road tyres. He was very fond of that machine so the County must be really somthing (he is a professional 4wd modifier for competitions and is about to do a real job on the county). He wants me to go along with him on his next outing before the county is modified to compare disco stock with county stock. Has anyone done a similar comparo (say with a long WB defender)? He wants me to go on a track with him that caused him some rear end panel damage; I guess I'm in trouble! The advantage that I have is the ETC that will give me more options on the line to take. I have a D2 and D1 but I think I will take the manual v8 D11 because even though articulation is not quite as good and overhangs more the ETC might just get me through the territory he is talking about without panel damage!! I will let you know. S PS. Another Toyota owner has been converted! |
