my radiator started leaking this morning so I went to inspect it and it seems that is damaged on the sides where the aluminum connects to the plastic. is this normal behavior for a 99 vehicle? what could cause the damage? I ordered a radiator in the internet for $361.00. is there a shipper one out there? is it easy to replace? sorry for so many questions......they come from my frustration!

My local dealer (Mission Viejo, Ca) quoted $200 for a new radiator.

You can look into having a radiator shop recore it. Unless 99 are plastic maybe it can't be done not sure. I know on my 95 the shop I took it to to be rodded out said it could be recored down the road

I have a '00 and my radiator started to leak Just before my warranty was up. the dealer replaced it but it would have cost over $400 if i was out of warranty. Check a local radiator shop, they can probably fix it. There is no voodoo envolved, its a just a regular raditor in a truck. Did you try duct tape?

I have a cheap rad if you still need one. $156.00 plus ship. Its new and Genuine. Contact me anyone is interested.
Be sure to use long life (orange) coolant. They don't last long with green.

I just did mine, $180 from AB and about 4 hrs of labor for me. Mine broke in the same place except I hit it with a hammer. Don't ask.

To make it hard on yourself, leave the viscous/fan in place and don't remove the oil or AT fluid cooler.

No sorry. Only Disco II. If you find a cheap DI rad, let me know. I can't find one anywhere. The DI one I have is $630.00. Cheaper than most for Genuine but still expensive.

This is a known problem with DIIs. Mine was replaced under warranty. If you are not at 50K yet then have them do it.

Known problem with 99 DIIs. Of course that didn't stop my dealer from refusing to replace it, me being two months out of warranty and all. The good news is it should be about $192 for the radiator. The original marked up price was $900+. However strong demand for this item has apparently convinced LR that this is one spare part they don't need and/or oughtn't to make the typical 1000% profit on.
