I currently have 18" Hurricane rims with stock tires. It snowed yesterday and I was sliding all over the place. I knew they would be bad, but not quite that bad. I had been planning on using OME for a slight lift and going with 265/75-R16 Goodyear MTR's on either some 16" LR alloys or finding some relatively cheap NATO rims. Will I be able to run this size tire for the time being without a lift? It won't see any trail use now, just daily driving and weekend jaunts to the ski slopes. Currently running the standard SLS suspension. Also, does anyone know of a good supplier of 16" steel rims? I'd like to keep the standard backspacing and all, just need to find 5 rims for a reasonable price. Thanks for any help on this..... |

why not put snow tires on the 18's? Or with a 2" lift you can put on 285/60/18 Nitto AT's. As far as cheap steel wheels with stock backspacing, i have not yet found them for a D2 and do not think they exist. AB has 16x7 with 5" backspacing. they might be your best bet, but arent cheap. Trek Outfitters might be cheaper. |

Nathan, read this one. They will fit great, but there are better snow tires ouyt there than the MTRs. Cheers! ../2/35719.html"#444444"> |

I have the standard 16" wheels. Before my lift I put 265/75 Yoko Geolanders on it and had no problems for several weeks. Of course it just plain looks better with the lift. |
