I have a 1996 D1. Here are my questions. 1. Where is the horn? Primarily the ground. I was told it was by the radiator but I can not find it. My horn just all the sudden quit working. I want to check all the connections but the manual does not say anything about the horn anywhere. 2. Do all 1996 D1's have a heated windshield? If not, how do you tell? If so, is it automatic or is there a button to activate it? Where is the button? Thanks |

matt, the horn relays and grounds are in the LH footwell behind the trim panel-i'd check the fuse first-under the steering column. the horns themselves (left and right) are tucked behind the grille. don't know about the windscreens. i also have a '96 and have never seen a switch or a fuse for it. cheers, carl |

Matt, I have a D2 w/ a heated front windshield and you can actually see the heating element running vertically in the glass if you look close enough. If the glass is perfectly clear my guess is you don't have that feature. Also, at least on the D2's, the heated windshields came paired with heated seats (cold climate package) |

Not all 1996 D1s have the heated windshield. Christian is correct, that it is a feature of the cold weather package, but on the D1s, I dont know that that included heated seats. Any PO resources, or dealer records would be a simple way to find out. |
