Nice...but how do you like it?
Could someone explain the basic idea behind the 3 link?

I'm guessing that the radius arms are able to pivot at the axle end, and the threaded pipe that goes from the cross member is a pivot point in the middle of the axle. I think when the axle flexes, the link that comes from the cross member to the axle is threaded so it can twist. I think you rotate the threaded cross member pipe in or out to reach the correct castor too. I've been pondering about getting "hinged" radius arms because they do offer a lot more flex.
That's how I think it works from what I've read. Sounds like a nice setup.

I have had a 3link on my truck for the better part of a year and love it. It allows for adjustable castor/pinion angle by shortening or lengthening the center link. (rod running from tie rod guard to frame cross member) It also gives you additional down travel by using a single pivit radius arm mount on the axel. I installed mine myself. It took the better part of 3 days to get it on.

Wow what a responce.... I really really like my SG 3link. IT gives me alot more travel and seems to let the whole front end flex alot better on the limited amount of trail time I have had sence I go t it. The only real down side I found after install was my stock shocks and springs were worn out and I needed new ones. Plus you should invest in a steering stabilizer relocation kit. Because the 3link removes your stock steering stabilizer.
Dean, No I had southern off road specialist install my 3link. ( http://www.southernoff-road.com/index.htm )
Ho Chung, sorry no fork lift pics but give me a bit I might be able to come up with some. ;)
Will, naw Im not a member though I would like to get involved. I just havnt had the time. I work 6 nights a week and the strip club ( Gold Rush ShowBar on Metropolitain prkwy ) as a bouncer. Though thats about to change so I will have two nights a week off so I will try to make a meeting and what not. I would love to find a few land rover guys/girls to wheel with on a sunday or something.

Naw the only place I have been off road with my Disco sence the install of both my lift and 3link is my hunting club for deer season. And we havnt had enough rain to make it muddy anyplace on the propery save the swamp road but I wont take anything down there without a winch and a few extra people to give me a hand to get unstuck. LOL. Later Nutter

Anyway, anyone in the atl is more than welcome to stop by and have some fun. So whoever shows up at the door gets in for free if they tell me they post on Dweb. Plus anyone who is passing though the atl is more than welcome to stop in and I will comp them in also. Just tell me your from Dweb. Later Nutter

PS Im the 240 pound bald tattoo'd bouncer at the door for those of you who want to stop in.

Chris,

Maybe Solaros could start meeting where you work. We are actually looking around for places to meet. Just kidding. Although our meetings would be useless they would be entertaining.

If you ever get a chance come by a meeting or register on our bulletin board and I will try and let you know about upcoming rides.
