just want to know what kind of max weight i need to look @... my camel trophy spec roof rack can be winched on if bolted to a roll cage. So i know its not the limit... how 'bout that rain gutter... facts and personal observations are welcome... lata |

My cb roof rack has held about 300lbs or so, just a short drive home, lots of body roll, as far as static weight, 3-400 lbs, but do not drive with it up there, the roof rack i made sits the entire length of the gutters so that the weight is distributed throughout the entire gutter length. |

Considering it's difficult enough not to exceed the maximum payload with a full load that is mounted low inside the vehicle and secured to the load floor, I can't imagine why you'd want to routinely drive with a significant load up there. Although, having a platform for a seat or a roof tent would be quite nice, and I guess if you make a living out of carrying large quantities of pillows and foam packing materials... |
