I've searched the archives and turned up nothing. Anyone know if there is a vendor for Stainless D2 steering components? I've already tried RTE with no luck. Mangled my track rod and drag link this past weekend so it's time to upgrade. TIA, Jason |

Jason, The only one's that I'm aware of are the set that Greg Davis made for his truck. Maybe if enough of us bug him about it, he'll put them into production Steve |

You too Jason? Bent mine at SAE. Didn't realize until I got back on the pavement; to go straight the steering wheel was at 1 o'clock. No one is in production that I am aware of.

Jason Don't know whether you get them in the US but Sumo Bars are a popular and highly regarded upgrade to the steering dept over here in the UK. Sumo offer a replacement tie rod and drag link made from a bombproof section tube. Check out www.4allfours.co.uk. Contact: Ian Sykes. The website doesn't list a D2 fitment, but having just placed an order for my own D1 I can confirm that they've just started to manufacture steering bars for the D2. Price for regular bars is US equivalent of approx $160 a pair, however i understand that because of the different type of ball joint fixing on the D2, they will have to supply new ball joints with the D2 kit which will no doubt bump up the price. Obviously they're a heavy item so shipping from the UK will be a killer too. |

Huh? RTE doesn't do them for D2? Sheesh. I love mine and can't imagine why they would not do them for D2. Cant be that hard to have someone tap the thread on som 1.25" stainless though. |

I'll bet that if enough people start bugging RTE about them they'd make 'em. He was kind enough to set me up with track/drag combo for my series truck. Good stuff by the way. I think my steering linkages are beefier than my axles. |

I have the offset tie rod and the steering stabilizer relocation kit on my Range Rover Classic from www.rockware.net along with the QT Services rock slider diff guards. The front diff guard wraps under the offset tie rod where it goes under the diff for additional protection. This equipment saved me from damage a few weeks back in a rock garden in Panamint Valley, California. These parts are identical and will also fit Dicovery I's. Get in touch with Rockware to see if they have the same components available for Dicovery II's. Hope this helps. Jim Lupinetti |
