I can't get the dealer to list all that's involved/checked/raplaced with the 75K service. Does anyone know the average cost for one? Someone told me that this is nothing more than an oil change and lubing the driveshaft. Help, any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Ray, inside your owners manual there should be a passport to service book and on page 26 and 27 it has a listing of everything you get with 75k on it. its really cold outside and i went out and got mine for you so if you don't have one here's what you should get.
Outside vehicle
1. inspect wiper blades
2. lubricate door locks and check straps, hood latch and safety catch, fuel door hinges
Inside vehicle
1. check/ adjust parking brake
2. check seat bets
Under hood
1. inspect coolant hoses
2. inspect radiator and AC condenser
3. check power steering /ACE fluid if equipped
4. inspect serpentine drive belt
5. clean and service battery
Under Vehicle
1. inspect tires
2. inspect brake pads, calipers and disks
3.**Change engine oil and replace filter** Required Emission Maintence
4. inspect exhaust system and heat shields
5. inspect brake lines
6. lubricate drive shafts and U-joints
7. inspect steering rods/ joints/ dust covers
8. inspect shock absorbers
9. inspectsuspension links and mountings
10. inspect wheel speed sensor wiring
11. inspect fuel and hydraulic lines
12. check and adjust steering box (only time they offer it on service plan ;)
13. service ACE (automated cornering enhancement) when equipped.
oh and the SRS and AirBags must be replaced every ten years. if this is under your warranty i would say go for it but if you wait until 90k you going to get everything i just said plus they will
A. change front and rear axle oil levels
B. change transfer gearbox oil
C. change transmission Fluid.
and as for the average cost i'm not sure because the average cost is usually and arm and a leg or a first born, however if you take everything i just mentioned to a ford dealer they should be able to do it and a better price too. Land Rover was recently bought out by Ford. FYI. well hope that answers your question. oh and i'm selling jump seats for a disco II. let me know if your interested.

Luke, thanks for the very informative post. I've always had my D2 serviced through LR and by a good friend who happened to be a mechanic at the same dealer. Luckily for me he has always taken care of my truck every time she goes in for oil change or service. I was told this cost around $220, not too bad but I wished the dealer would include all fluids replacement. The jump seats, do they just bolt on in place of the storage bin? Will you include the step and the head rest too? Thanks.
