Got a visit from my favorite UPS truck today, and it made me remember the previous discussion regarding how great it is when the 4x4 gods deliever their products.
Today's gift was special as it was 4 BFG MT 255/85/16's that are now right beside my 3" OME springs and 1" spacers all waiting for Sat am's visit to the Base Auto Hobby shop.
What's even better is my wife looks at me and says "Why didn't you order the 5th one so the spare matches from the start and we don't have to argue about it later..." She's learning!

Anyone else giving themselves an early x-mas present for their Rover this year?

Damn Ray, You gotta love Brown.

See, if you were here, we could have knocked out that lift in no time. A couple months ago we did a 2" OME on a D1 for a SSgt in 4.5 hours. But my fee is pretty stiff: 1 dozen double chocolate donuts from Dunkin :-)

I'm heading to Vermont (DAP Enterprises) on Monday to p/u a set of Rock SliderZ for my Freelander, then south to Tennessee (Thatched Roof Garage) in mid-December to get a Safety Device Roof Rack and install some really nice lights, does that count ;-) Slaybell ring, are you listening...hehe!

Paul-
You're killing me here, I have a feeling that my man Frank at the hobby shop is going to close the place when he sees my truck drive in! You're fee is well within specs, and if I do get down there next year (to live, vice the visit that is probably coming soon) I may be feeding your D&D habits alot.
Sounds like Bill is also doing his part to spurn grass roots level GDP growth.

LOL! Dean, it is not polite to under cut the competition. Especially when we are talking donuts!

Back in '02, a bunch of us Philly guys rolled into Randy's house and knocked out a 2" OME lift and slider install. His wife Karen made this kick ass chili to feed the maintenance machine :-) And before that, we went over to Zach Ruck's house for a slider install. Hockey pucks and Hank's Root Beer was the feast on that day. All good. :-)

Actually, I'm told that Dean also accepts bribes in the form of good sushi. :-)

I only like the UPS truck when I get to it before my wife finds out...

I wish I could have it show up my office-I don't even want to think about the marital distress the constant stream of packages and deliveries causes at times.

Lift when on well, I did it by myself over two days. Lessons learned (more tech related, but this post is already started...)
-Read everything and think it through. I was putting on f-ing rear spacers (easy right) and I spent an hour fighting with the rear springs b/c I didn't release the shock. Once I realized how dumb I was it took less than an hour to finish the one side and do the other.
-On sunday I took to the front, much more hesitant after Sat's experience. Instead this took me about 2.5 hours (including clean up and trying to explain what I was doing to the neighbor.
-strap wrenches work great for holding the shock body while taking off the nut on the bottom.
-Having a 3/4 or 19mm racheting wrench would have been nice for that same nut.
-Having a $G three-link setup makes the springs literally fall out when you let out the bottle jack, and even putting in OME 264's is not a problem. I'm glad the previous owner bought it! :-)

Now if it well settle out its slight lean I would be happy. Otherwise I'm tearing it back down and switching the springs to alt sides.

This am=call SEARS and order 5th tire so I can have my spare. Must remember to give them my cell # vice home phone number to keep the wife unaware until bill shows up...
