check the sender hook up, it might be off/loose,
no,
stick a decal over the light till it burns out.

Make sure all your sensors aren't loose. My light came on when one of them got pulled up a little. Push them in, then drive around the block to see if the light goes out.

Simalar problem: the brakes worked fine including the antilock pump when driven on gravel.
ABS system diagnosis found no fault. The dealer traced the fault to the warning light relay.
The problem was a relay for antilock light not the antilocking brake system. The relay is located behind the glove box. P/N YWB10032L $24.00. Green in colour about 1" squaire.
total cost was $100.00

Dave-
I had to deal with this problem when I first got my truck. First and foremost, do you care if you have ABS? If not, pull the fuse(s), both of which are labeled in your owners manual. Then, as suggested, either put a label over your light till it dies or, if you live in a state where they do inspections and might wonder what the decal is doing there, do like I did and remove the instrument cluster and pull the bulb. Takes about 15 min with a phillips screwdriver-total time.
If you're worried about the sensors go look at your axle hub assembly, you'll see a wire leading to the top of swivel assembly. According to the Haynes manual you should disconnect the battery, jack up the appropriate side of the vehicle, support the weight safely, remove the wheel, find the sensor wire and follow it back to connector and release it from its retaining clip. Work back along the wire releasing any other clips and ties. Wipe the area around the sensor clean-this is important, b/c if you don't debris can get in the sensor housing and then its really going to be messed up. Gently pry the sensor loose with a flathead screwdriver. At this point you can inspect the sensor, clean it off, what have you.
Thats about as far as I got before I decided I really wasn't into ABS anyway, not to mention the price of a new sensor (if that's whats wrong-the dealer will be happy to charge you the diagnostic to tell you what they think it is) so I did the pull-the-fuse and bulb method and I just keep in mind I am driving a tank and plan accordingly.
Hope that helps.
