I have a 1997 Discovery (no sun roof) and I need to remove the rear view mirror. I cannot figure out how your supposed to access the multiplug which connects the electrics for the auto dimming mirror.

The wire seems to travel up under the headliner, I thought I might be able to access it through the space behind the over head light, but no luck.

Has anyone had any success with this? Thanks in advance for any help which you can offer.

(By the way, I searched the archives and found numerous references to the rear view auto-dimming mirror, including a few with the same query as mine, but nothing with directions).

Bruce, Are you replacing the mirror? If so contact: Rhonda.Leep@ magnadon.com .
She is sending me a free replacement with instructions for the auto dimming mirror.
I am still waiting for the mirrors to be delivered to them, but it will be replaced for the cost of sending in my old one after I get the new one.

My mirror also failed, and I'm working through the situation with magna donnelly. There are numerous thread discussing the problems with the mirrors, but very little with regards to how to remove / replace the faulty mirror. Can anyone tell me how to access the multiplug connector behind the headliner?
