About a week ago I replaced the dash in our disco and have since developed a hesitation that has degraded into misfiring at all RPM in the period of about a day. At first I did not think that the dash replacement was related to this problem, but I just noticed that my diagnostic display under the pass seat is not working. It flashes super quick when the ignition is turned on but I can not get it to display any codes. I have disconnected the O2 sensors and the connection to the idle controller but they did not register on the display at all. Unless I am wrong, I should have got a code for either of those events. Does anyone have any thought about this? I was leaning towards this being a problem with my distributor pickup but now I am wondering if the problems is related to why the diagnostic display seems to be dead. Thanks for any info.
