I want to put OME HD springs and OME shocks on my 92' RR. Right now the stock LR shocks are leaking, so they are my priority. Is there any problem with doing the shocks now (N115 front, N44 rear) and the OME HD springs at a later date. In a nutshell is there any drawbacks to running the new OME shocks with the old springs? Thanks, Tim H. |

Tim, I'm not sure what the lengths are on the shocks you mentioned but the only problem I see is if the shocks are longer than stock and you keep the old springs you might bottom-out the shocks when going over a bump. I don't know for sure but that would be the only issue. Good luck, John |

Tim: I have the same shocks. You should be fine to do the shocks first. I did the spring conversion first on my '93 then the shocks, but my OME springs (761/764) were not that much longer than stock RR coils. |

Bill, How do you like these shocks? the OME shocks are slightly gas charged vs Bilstein which are heavy gas charged. I assumed you notice less body rolling and such? I'm contemplating similar in my '91RRC. Ali |

Ali: Seems to work pretty well overall. As you noted, they are a wee bit softer than the Bilsteins I had on my Disco w/stock springs, but are well matched to the OME springs on the RRC. They work good with a load and in extremely low temps (-16C so far), again unlike the Bilsteins that seem to get harsher in both situations. Bottom line, I'd recommend them. I got mine from Paragon Expeditions which at the time had the best price I could find (about $70 USD per). |
