As I was passing out of town today headed up north, I spotted what looked like a heard of water buffalo... It turned out it was a heard of Hippo's instead (Freelanders)!

Here is what may be the first look at the 2004 Freelanders "in force" on American soil. There are several hundred sitting at the Baltimore Harbor, maybe as many as a thousand mixed in with a lesser amount of Discovery's (didn't see any Rangies). These are all the photos I could take before security ran me off.

"Move along now Sir, you look suspecious to me and you could be casing the joint!"

Did I mention that these Hippos are sitting about 3 miles from Fort McHenry? For you history buffs, that where Francis Scott Key wrote the U.S. National Anthem (The Star Spangled Banner) and where the American's sent the British packing during the War of 1812...

No hard feelings guys, we Colonials do love your cars!

Interesting,
Here in Australia I don't think we could even give that many freelanders away if they were free.

Yep, you caught an interesting sight. I see the sight Daily, and it has become rather boring believe it or not (probably because I am frustrated from being so close and so far away). (waiting to see a lot full of Defenders one day) I teach Computer Technology at Francis Scott Key Elementary/Middle School located within walking distance of Ft. McHenry. The 7th grade students went on a field trip back in October, and a couple of the students that love the sight of my 94RR daily in the school parking lot rushed back to give me an update on what they saw/see (local kids) in the "Rover Parking Lot".
Wonder why you were told to move along.....Usually folks don't get bothered if you aren't doing any thing harmful....(The kids are usually sent packing, due to vandalism....) I rememeber way back during the debut of the MKIII Range Rover getting a first hand look and a truck FULL of 2003 RR's, very interesting sight because the truck was headed to all the surrounding dealers in the MD area. Driver crossed me at the stop light underneath bridge-street leaving Rover lot- told me each Rover was headed to a different dealer (yelled out the window to me that he liked my RR better than his load). Can't rememeber the total on the truck, but was interesting to hear nontheless.

Cool that you had a chance to take photos- Guess I could've done so many months ago.... I'll try to keep the board updated of what I see......

Maybe thats why there are so many discounts on LRs right now....makes the price I paid in 1995 look stupid, especially when the "improvement" are factored in
