Jess, Go to the Ranger store in Dahlonega in the strip mall in front of Wal-mart on Hwy 9. You can also order them online. Let me find the link. |

Jess, Check out http://www.topozone.com/ and begin looking around for trails that you might want to ride on. Then go to the top left and click on "get quad info" and it will tell you which Topo map has the data you are looking at. So when you go to this store Robb speaks of, you know exactly what you want. You could also join the topozone little thing and get other maps and aerial photos, etc. Then you could see the surrounding area and other cool stuff. Hope that helps. Max T. |

On this link you want the first map on the left titled "Chattahoochee National Forest Map." http://www.ganationalforests.org/Merchant2/merchant.mvc? Also go to http://www.cradleofforestry.com/store/storefront.html click on maps, click on North Carolina maps, and buy the Upper Tellico ORV Area. Others you might want to buy on this and other pages are Nantahala National Forest (NC), Uhwarrie National Forest (NC) and the Cherokee National Forest (TN). |

USGS maps of the entire country. They have the best detail I've ever seen and they include so called jeep trails and other minor unmaintained roads. Delorme TopoQuads are $90 a state and include all the maps for that area. Dean |

I like the oversized DeLorme Atlas & Gazetteer - TOPO maps of the entire state with GPS Grids. They are available for every state for around $16 each at bookstores. I've got them for Florida and Georgia and my experience is that they have done a great job of mapping even the smallest jeep trails. For sure they contain much more detail than any of my Garmin Mapsource software. It's nice to have something to hold in my hands to look at and also useful for using with GPS - easy to wark waypoint by number with GPS and then pencil that number on the map. I used to be excellent navigating with a compass and those skills have become more than a bit rusty. Lately, I've been making an effort to follow navigation with actual maps b/c I don't want to become overly dependent on electronics. If you try to find the Georgia Atlas with GPS grids, it is ISBN 0-89933-210-2 (www.delorme.com) |

I second Jamie. I just got a new Virginia Gazetter and will be getting W. Virginia soon. They're not the smallest scale but they do show the details you need for navigating off road. As an added bonus they list the major bodies of water and what fish are in them in the front. |
