It appears that the only changes to the 03 model are the lamps in the bumper. The geometry and basic structure is the same as the 99 and up model. So for opinions on that bumper, I would just do a search. ARB is never a bad choice, but there is better. |

Barry, I replaced the stock bumper on my '03 with the ARB. At the time I purchased the ARB, the '03-4 specific bumpers were not out yet. I ended up with the winch air-bag compatible ARB for earlier D2s. The two things that I could not bring over from the stock bumper were the headlamp washers and the fog lights. (The '03-4 style ARB bumpers accomodate those two items.) Last month, I replaced the ARB with a Rovertym bumper. I liked the ARB bumper, but found that it had a large overhang. The approach angle was not much better than the stock bumper, so I occasionally got hung up on obstacles while off-road. When I was researching bumper options, I went through almost every archive thread on the topic. If you plan on off-roading, take into consideration how the bumper affects your approach angle. There are many choices out there, but I'm thrilled with my RTE bumper. -Eugene |

Jim, I have the RTE with full brush bar, limb riser tabs welded on, and skid plate. No pictures yet, though I can take several tomorrow and get them posted. BTW, Ross Thoma's gallery has pictures of an '03 D2 with the RTE A Bar style bumper. http://www.discoweb.org/rossthoma/index.htm -Eugene |

New ARB has a better approach angle and fits fog lights, and mounts stiffer. Bazzle |

I ran across these pictures the other day. They are of an '03 with a TJM on it. Scroll down a little on this page: http://www.expeditionexchange.com/tjm/t15d2.htm |

Reid's right. Check out the TJM. I think they look better than the ARB and the winch mounts in a much stronger position than the ARB. Check out this very nice 2003: http://www.expeditionexchange.com/ics2/PA250023.jpg |

I bought mine through Bill at Great Basin Rovers. I live in Southeast Idaho so shipping was a lot more reasonable. I have it fitted with a Warn XD 9000. Very happy with the fit, no modifications required for washer bottle etc. The other nice thing with the TJM is the winch basket provides excellent protection for the winch underneath, while also provided a virtual 1/4" skid plate underneath that goes back to almost the steering dampner. Very nice set-up. Ho directed toward TJM when I was planning my purchase, and I'm glad he did. They really are nice. |

I just installed a TJM on my '01. I am very impressed with the overall quality, and the fit. I preferred the look of the TJM over ARB, Rovertym, etc. and also liked the fact that you didn't have to relocate the washer bottle, etc. I also installed the Hella 4000 fogs. Both look great on a D2. Ordered everything from EE, and as usual the service was excellent. BTW, I picked mine up from the warehouse in Knoxville and saved some $$. Very nice folks there - I highly recommend both Expedition Exchange and TJM. |

I just installed a TJM bumper on my 99 D2 last weekend. Everything fit perfectly. I added tow hooks to the winch tray, so now I have good solid recovery points on the front. Very nice bumper.
