My wheel seals are leaking, would two different tires (same size) have anything to do with this. New tires are coming next week, looks like I will be doing two sets of wheel seals as well.

nick if they are the old style series rims they will leak unless you use an inner tube with the tire.

if these are the stock aluminum tires. you can still try the inner tube.

I doubt two of a same size tire would cause any wheel bearing seal or stub axle seal issues. You cna actually live without the stub axle seals and some prefer to do so and let gear oil from the diff also lubricate the wheel bearings.

Problem is that it is also lubricating the sides of my tires. Might consider letting the inner seal go (which of course is the cheap one), but I think I need the outer to keep the fluid where it belongs.

OK - you said axle seal - which is inside the stub axle.

The hub is sealed by one oil seal and one drive flange gasket.

Both are easy to replace and will give the opportunity to repack wheel bearings, reset preload, etc. No special tools needed. Make sure to get the newer double lip oil seal - much more effective (p/n rtc3511)
