My wifes 95 discovery has now close to 140000 on it and we are considering a seriesII. What is the differnce in back seat leg room? is it much or about the same. This is the reason I do not want to get rid of my LWB classic. Anyone know if there will ever be a LWB disco?

2005 model, which is redesigned, may have a LWB version come out, but it will not be available initially. The DII has more leg room than a DI, but it is in no way copious.

maybe, but the 2005 will suck for a number of reasons... plus if you like your classic LWB then find another low mileage one...
the disco was made for what it is, if you look @ the series II disco you will find that although it is a little longer, its all added in the rear overhang for the newer jump seats that face forward... in my humble opinion the leg room on the series 1 is better... because there isn't a seat in front of you... its great for kids, but thats it... the jump seats in the D2 are for kicks... i will use one of mine in teh D1 fairly reguarly without many complaints,

I have to change the way I view things - I get no kicks from the jump seats in my D1..

I have sat in the rear of my wifes 95 and it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be. maybe we should just keep it and rebuild the motor? The vehicle still runs good we were just thinking ahead.

Have been running with 3 seats for the last 3 years or so. I keep the 3rd (40%) seat in my DII for occasional convenience more than anything else. It's really a two seat vehicle... Plus, by the time you take out the 60% seat you have not only saved yourself cargo room, but a not insignificant amount of payload.

Thanks for the help guys. I wnet and looked at the dealer today and they had a 2000 series II certified for 16500 which I dont think is to bad at all and it has really low miles. I think what we are going to do is have the 1995 gone through by the mechanic give us an idea how much it will cost to make it like new. If it is too much which i think it will be well just keep the 1995 for an off road vehicle and outfit it, and buy a series II for our family vehicle.

Thats a good price, I bought one of my DII's from Dallas Land Rover and it was certified. Thats a good thing LR does, not just a marketing thing.

Jerry for you to fix the vehicle to like new is a total waste of money considering age and milage. I would just keep it.

That is what I was thinking it isnt worth anything for a trade value. I think that we will outfit it with the proper kit for off roading and buy a series II for everyday driving maybe the new bodied RR.
