Anyone here change the car seats on a D1 with different make? I am not just talking about getting a DII on a DI but getting any other car make seats that provide more support and more comfort? Just a question my seats are shot and even new they were never that comfortable.

Hey Axel, at ICS2 you were talking about aftermarket seats for the D1 - do you know of any offhand? My main ass support strap on my driver's seat snapped last night, and now I'm sitting about 4" low like a little old lady. I either have to fix it (and replace the worn leather on both front seats) or just shop for something else. Thanks.

How about D2's in a D1, or from any RR to a D1? Sorry Tony I'm hijacking your thread, but I too am wondering about all my options for replacement seats aftermarket, or from another rover.

I've heard that Corbeau GTS II's go into DI's fairly well, I think somewhere I read the biggest problem is the brackets (you have to use two of their generic passenger side brackets or something, as the driver side is the wrong height)

The seats themselves are pretty good looking and supposedly offer good comfort.

the other option is to just tear out the stock base and redo it all with some simple metal brackets.

check out Michael Slade's custom seat action:

Im about to order a set of Corbeaus. According to their webpage, they offer brakets to mount the seats in a Disco 1.

In some of the british rover mags there are some discos with rover seats. Todd What are you asking for the seats?

Hi guys,

I know a guy that just put a set of Range Rover Classic seats into his ~'97 Disco.

He did the front and back, and he said it was a straight swap between the two.

I think he was able to get the seat memory working too, but I'm not certain.

He said that he found the support much better.

Jerry,

Depends what you need...$400 plus shipping for front and rear seats, and I'll throw in a set of seat control switches, seat wiring connectors and a center console if you need it, or $250 if you just want the front two (plus shipping). Feel free to contact me off list if you want more info or pictures at trooker@cox.net.

Cheers,

Todd
